nanotechnology, the ink quality of each company had problems, so the heat transfer

technology and related products did not develop rapidly. Dramatically, in 2002, in order to

ensure its leading position in the sublimation printer ink industry, ASF filed a lawsuit against

Sawgrass through the American court after the acquisition of Sawgrass failed. Sawgrass

almost went bankrupt in response to the lawsuit, but won in the end. Sawgrass later

monopolized the sales of sublimation printer ink in the US market through patent protection.

At the same time, Dupont, BASF, Ciba, Sensitive and other companies can only sell by paying

patent fees and sawgrass authorization, and slowly fade out of the sublimation printer ink

market. As Sawgrass has a patent monopoly, it has led to the high price of sublimation ink in

the European and American markets. Because Korean ink is not limited by the patent,

its price is relatively cheap.

But it also requires more ink. At present, the domestic market of thermal sublimation ink is

mainly used for desktop printing and other small applications. However, in Europe and

industrial production, so the market of thermal transfer printing has developed rapidly,

growing at a rate of 30% every year.
